Meet A!!

On January 17th I had my weekly appointment. My doctor checked me and said I was almost at a 4!  She told me to expect the baby within the next few days!!  So... fast forward about an hour and a half and I was lying on the couch and my water broke!  I was so shocked I didn't know what to do.  Luckily, Brent had made it home about 20 minutes before so we loaded up the car.  Almost instantly, the hard contractions started. Oh MY... we couldn't get to the hospital fast enough.  By the time we made it, I was already at 6 cm. and by the time I got to a room, I was at 7 cm.  I was more than ready for my epidural.  Finally I got it and I was much happier!  Soon, my family arrived and we were ready to meet "A".  At about 11 p.m., I started pushing and pushed for an hour and half.  By that time, my epidural had worn off and I could feel almost everything!  On January 18th at 12:52 a.m. our sweet girl was born.  She was 6 lbs. 14 oz. and 20 inches long and extremely PRECIOUS!!  It was the most amazing experience ever!!  I wouldn't have changed anything.  AND... I am pretty sure I have the best husband ever, because he was wonderful the entire time.  I was lucky to have my mom, sister and mother-in-law in the room with me and Brent.  Also, Amber Lanning was in there capturing this experience for me!  I am so thankful I had her take pictures, so I can remember the entire experience. We were able to go home on January 19th and we have been enjoying every minute of it since. I am soooo in love with her!  So... here she is!!!!

"A's" Church Shower

"A" had her shower from my church this last weekend.  It was AMAZING! She is so loved by so many people and she hasn't even arrived yet.  I couldn't believe all of the wonderful gifts we received Saturday. Tracy, Janna, Stephanie and Julia were the hostessess for this shower.  It was adorable! It was also nice to see some family and close friends from high school who showed up for the shower.  We ate lots of good "brunch" food and had a great time visiting.  I am pretty sure we are almost set for "A's" arrival! 36 Weeks

I took this picture on New Year's Eve!  I was 35 weeks, so I am a week further now!

First Baby Shower for "A"

Yesterday, Brent's work had a WONDERFUL baby shower for us!  We felt so honored that they wanted to do this for us.  We had pink punch and ate cake from my favorite bakery, Rick's! They also had three "games" for all of us to play.  It was so nice to feel loved by people who barely know Brent!

We also received many amazing gifts from his co-workers. Baby "A" got lots of new sleepers/cute clothes, diapers, wipes, books, blankets, hairbows, toys, giftcards and a mobile.  It was such a sweet shower for her.  A sweet lady came and took pictures for us, so when she gets them to Brent I will post them on here for all to see!

This weekend, my family and close friends are coming into town for "A's" shower from church.  I can't wait to spend time with all of them! I am so excited about this shower too!  My dear friend, Julia Nabors, is one of the host and she plans FABULOUS parties!!  You should check her website out here! I am getting excited about meeting baby "A".  Only 4 weeks to go!!!!

I Finally Created It!

I finally created my blog!  Or should I say... My sister created my blog! Ha.  With school and getting ready for this precious baby, I haven't had any time to work on this blog. I was determined to get it ready before the baby gets here and with my sister's help,we made it happen. 


With less than 2 weeks until Christmas, I feel like I really need to work on completing my Christmas shopping list. It is getting harder and harder to do things after work.  I used to go home and sit for a few moments and think... "Well, I guess I could go to Target or something to pass time until Brent gets home." Those were the days.  Now, I come home and immediately crash on the couch. With that being said, I am going to have to find some energy somewhere (anyone know where I can find that? ) and get to work!  That's it for now... Hopefully these posts will get more interesting, especially in a little less than 2 months.  Eeek!!!!
